From our founder:
I’d like to introduce you to the lending library and tell you a little bit about it. The lending library was on my heart to start for over a year. I wanted to honor my daughter Shannon whom my husband and I lost to miscarriage in 2007. And so it became my goal to open by Labor Day, 2009, but as is often the case, that was not meant to be. In mid-September, 2009, I lost our third child Tobias to miscarriage. With the pain of that event, I knew that the library would need to have a new name in order to honor both of these precious children. So, Shannon Tobias Memorial Christian Lending Library got its name. Now, it was time to really take action, and so I ordered library supplies and began the process of really cataloging, labeling, and stamping my collection of books. This process has been long and is not yet complete, but there are currently over 700 Christian fiction/non-fiction titles that are in the library’s collection of circulating books (as of October, 2013). The Shannon Tobias Memorial Christian Lending Library had its Grand Opening debut on Saturday, July 17, 2010. Seven people attended our open house and six signed up for library cards. We are so excited about this opportunity to reach out and bless people around us with this special library!
In August, 2012, Shannon Tobias Memorial Christian Lending Library closed doors to our Pennsylvania library and relocated to Minnesota. We held our Minnesota Grand Opening in April, 2013. We hope to have many fun and unique programs at our new location.
Currently, we are located in Farmington, Minnesota.
